Meatbody
. Critical full body AR SnapChat costume developed for Chicks on Speed and the Meatigation project.
MEATigation was a research project funded by the Norwegian Research Council KLIMAFORSK to raise awareness towards sustainable meat-use in Norwegian food practices for climate mitigation.
MEATigation’s primary objective is: To explore how meat is embedded in Norwegian food practices and to identify ways to promote sustainable meat-use in Norway.
A reduction in Western meat consumption is critical for respecting planetary boundaries, ensuring global food security, and improving human and animal health.
However, even when positive to climate action, Europeans are reluctant to reduce their meat consumption, especially in the Nordic regions.

I developed a full body filter in Lensstudio which covered the performer into an abstract steak texture, thereby commodifying the human into a butchered object.
The filter was then used as a promotional campaign tool and made it to the front page of the digital edition of Vogue Scandinavia in 2022.
In 2023 it was installed in several exhibitions across Europe as an interactive mirror for visitors to engage with it.

As part of my VJ performance with Chicks on Speed I performed with the meat-body filter at Muffatwerk Munich in 2022, the SNAP camera feed being live streamed to the side of the band.
