AWNJS at Wild State

The All Women’s Networked Jam Session was a colocated live performance at Wild State in the Sound Campus section of Ars Electronica. An opening in space, time, and subjectivity, providing a locus of interaction between artists working in diverse media in diverse cultural and spatial contexts. The performance celebrated the forms of distance between an act and its reception; latencies become sites of discovery and discourse, creating and revealing communities. Exploring the network as an entity in its own right and the participants being partial extensions, like ghosts congregating in its latent spaces.

I developed a character that resembles a prophet reflecting on the tech invasion and bleeding of boundaries between the virtual and physical worlds that most of us have been or are still experiencing this year. This character is a witness looking on as our bodies are starting to merge with technology, disintegrating previous worlds.
